UNNAT BHARAT ABHIYAAN
Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) is a national program implemented by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India, with a vision of involving professional and higher educational institutions in the development process of rural areas in the country. S.D. College of Engineering and Technology is actively taking part in Unnat Bharat Abhiyan. The aim of UBA is to link Higher Education Institutions with a set of at least 05 villages so that technical institutions could contribute to the financial and social betterment of these village communities using their knowledge.
Under the UBA, our college has adopted five villages in the Muzaffarnagar district namely Rampur, Nasirpur, Salajuddi, Meghakheri, and Bahadapur. To achieve the goals of UBA, the college has formed a dedicated team of faculty, staff, and students. Our group has visited the village for surveying and has distinguished the particular issues looked by the villages, for example, the inaccessibility of safe drinking water in the students, inaccessibility of school furniture, absence of computer knowledge, uncleanliness, inadequate, unhygienic toilets, and other issues. As a first initiative, the college is aiming to providing computer literacy to neighbour villages of Rampur and create awareness about importance of hygiene, cleanliness and rain water harvesting.
